The Berlinische Galerie opens its new building end of October at Alte Jakobstr. 124 128, located in Berlin-Kreuzberg in the heart of the city. On 4.600 qm you will find a superb presentation of modern art, photography and architecture which will be opened to visitors of TMM until midnight for the duration of the Festival. TRIBUTE TO ERIC DOLPHY
(born June 20, 1938 in Los Angeles; died June 29, 1964 in Berlin)

40 years ago, Eric Allan Dolphy, the American innovator and revolutionary bass-clarinet player and composer died in Berlin at the age of 36. He is still one of the major influences for contemporary artists today. God Bless The Child, a tune originally written by Billie Holiday/Herzog and documented in at least six variations by Eric Dolphy, as well as other pieces will be newly performed by some of the greatest bass-clarinet players to open this year´s Total Music Meeting in memoriam Steve Lacy.
The soloist of God Bless The Child is Harry Sparnaay, one of the most renowned bass-clarinetists of Contemporary Music.
